Nature + Culture I
After a short, but full of energy hike our first stop is Pedra Bonita, a mountain that is part of the Tijuca National Park. Having its summit at 2,273 feet above sea level, it offers a 360° panoramic view featuring forests, beaches and urban landscape.
After an optional lunch at a nearby seafood restaurant we visit the Museu Casa do Pontal.
Set in a pleasant house in one of the most beautiful places of the city, the museum presents one of the most complete perspectives of the Brazilian popular art. Thanks to the designer Jacques Van de Beuque who dedicated 40 year of research, the work of more than 200 artists from many different parts of Brazil can be put together, and more than 8,000 art pieces can be displayed in what is an authentic anthropological window to the roots of the Brazilian culture.
